PSIMedica
Releases Version 7.0 of CKM Health & Productivity
Analytics Technology
Bethesda,
MD – August 23, 2005 |
PSIMedica is pleased to announce release of version 7.0 of
its Clinical Knowledge Manager web-based software system,
effective October 1, 2005. The system is used by self-insured
employers, government agencies, and other purchasers to manage
the cost and quality of healthcare and disability benefits.
The new version incorporates new and expanded functionality
in several areas of critical importance to purchasers:
-
The Chronic Disease Models area has
been significantly expanded. Twelve major disease states,
including diabetes, asthma, low back pain, and coronary
artery disease, are now included with quality management
metrics and predictive modeling analytics.
-
High-risk and/or high-cost conditions
such as pregnancy, obesity and substance abuse have been
added to the system in the modeling area. These Medical
Condition Models include projections of forward financial
risk for benefit purchasers.
-
Health Risk Assessment (HRA) data
is now routinely captured into the data warehouse across
many different vendors and survey formats. HRAs are used
to assess forward cost and absenteeism risk as a supplement
to claims and enrollment data.
-
Worker’s Comp and Disability
Income benefits are now fully covered with a separate
module.
-
The Benefit Design Modeler has been
expanded to consolidate the historical experience of multiple
and diverse plans for a single employer into the baseline
for a forward actuarial projection.
Nelson
Rosenbaum, Ph.D., President of PSIMedica notes, “We
designed the expanded features of CKM Version 7.0 to meet
the emerging analytic needs of large employers and other benefits
purchasers. Employers now need to be highly proactive about
the health and productivity of their employees. PSIMedica
is providing the essential tools to support that stance”
